Jack Paper Packet

I decided to create a slider card using the featured Jack Paper.

This allowed me to use a variety of papers patterns & add a little surprise element to the card. If you look closely you will see that I used some of the patterned paper to create the bow instead of plain cardstock.

I even pulled out the new Scallop Border Thin Cut & tried cutting it into some Gold Shimmer Trim – which I just had to use to decorate the present.

With the slider closed it looks like a little present & once you pull the tab it revels a little bear that hides behind (or in) the present. What is great about this idea is that you can use any pattern paper to create your present – you just need to decide what will be revealed once the slider tab has been pulled open! Close To My Heart Prickly Pear Paper www.maz.closetomyheart.com.auI decided to really show off this fun Prickly Pear Paper Suite and I thought what better way to do that, than with a pop up Box card.

This type of card allows me to really make use of the paper, even fussy cutting some of the Cacti out to use amongst the stamped a Thin Cut Cacti from the Prickly Pear cardmaking and Scrapbooking stamp sets.

And that Llama – he is too cute not to use.

You may have noticed that the bunting used on the card is actually the rug that sits on his back, fussy cut out from being stamped on the different pattern papers that make up the Prickly Pear Paper Suite.

I have even used one of the z strips& cut out the wonderful day banner from one of the cut apart picture my life cards. This is one bright happy fun card and I enjoyed creating it.

No Worries Paper Suite www.maz.closetomyheart.com.auSit back, breath & relax you are in for a wonderful treat to see what wonderful ideas have been created using the No Worries Paper Suite and will you just look at the lovely colour combination – so nice & relaxing

This is one great paper pack to get to scrap Summer Beach holiday’s, cruises (I need to scrap my cruise photos) or just a getaway out in the sun & nature.

For this paper pack I created this relaxing Happy Place card – I can just imagine sitting on the deck chair & watching the sun go down & the palm trees creating a shadow – with a cocktail in hand – ah bliss.

Happy Place Close To My Heart No Worries Card #CTMH www.maz.closetomyheart.com.au

The Deck Chair, the sign & star fish come from the No Worries Complements, the wood grain background from the No Worries Paper Packet and the Trees & Birds from the No Worries-Scrapbooking stamp set.

The Sunset was created with Lemon, Tangerine & Blossom Exclusive Inks smooched onto the All-Purpose Mat & water added. This blended the colours & created a water coloured look for the sunset. Once dried I stamped with Archival Black Exclusive Ink.

I cut out a circle frame using the BasicCircle Thin Cuts & added Black Dots to be like rivets on a porthole window.

Different ways to colour the Live Beautifully Stamp Images

One of the items included in the National Scrapbooking Month Celebration is this gorgeous Live Beautifully Stamp set with lovely roses, leaves & words. The Roses & leaves in this set are a solid design and some may find it hard to work out how to colour these images.  Here I am showcase a few different ways to colour the images.

Watercolour

Stamp the images with a lighter colour of exclusive ink, this will give you a guide & a background colour to work with. Dip the small watercolour brush into water & into one of the watercolours, make sure the brush is not too wet & apply over into an area of the petals or leaves in short strokes. Add the darker shades first in where you want shadows and lighter colours on top to add depth & to build up the image.

The rose on this Smile card was coloured in with watercolour paint. The rose was first stamped with Blossom Exclusive Ink then painted over with the watercolours.

The flower was fussy cut out & fitted into a cutout frame. Smile was gold embossed & fussy cut out to go over the card. Live beautifully papers sit in the background.

Watercolour Pencils

Stamp the images with a lighter colour of exclusive ink, this will give you a guide & a background colour to work with. Colour over the image with the Watercolour Pencils. Your image can be left as is after colouring in or you can go over the coloured areas with a wet Waterbrush, make sure it is not too wet.

The yellow rose was stamped in Lemon Exclusive ink then coloured over with the watercolour pencils. No water was added over the colouring. She Believed Card: Scrapbooking Month - Live Beautifully Stamp set & paper pack. Watercolour pencils - dry. www.maz.closetomyheart.com.au

For the pink rose I stamped in Blossom Exclusive ink, then coloured over with watercolour pencils. A wet water brush was “painted” over the colouring which blended the ink & watercolouring pencils giving a different look to the rose.

ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers

Stamp the images with exclusive ink, this will give you a guide & a background colour to work with. Choose two ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers (a lighter & a darker colour) that is close to the colour of the stamped image. Using the lighter colour first colour with short stokes over a petal or part of the leaf. Then go over the the area with the darker colour. Work back in the lighter colour to blend out the darker area into the main stamped image.

Dauber Technique with Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pads

A pretty simple way to use two or more different colours onto a solid image. Tap the stamp image into a lighter colour ink pad first, using a Sponge Dauber, pick up some of the darker colour & tap over the image. You can add a third colour but be-careful you may muddy the colours in the image.
