You can get this stamp set for $27 or for just $7.50 when you spend $75 or more on Close to My Heart Product.

I thought the little icons would make great backgrounds for cards so that is what I am sharing with you today.

The images were stamped in VersaMark™ Ink Pad & embossed with Ranger™ White Super Fine Embossing Powder. I then sponged over the backgrounds with the Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pads & spritz with water to get a mottled background effect.

I decided to make a three fold card using the Snow Globe Base & the Bow stamp image.

Three Fold Card Christmas Tunes-October Stamp of the Month
On the front of the card I created the globe using the Basic Circle Thin Cuts cut from Gold Foil & stuck Vellum between them. The Base of the snow globe was stamped & embossed with Gold Embossing powder. I added the Tree from the Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Stamp + Thin Cuts and the Koala from Operation Smile™: Punny Pals, his hat is borrowed from the Bear that is in the Beary Christmas Stamp set.

Three Fold Card Christmas Tunes-October Stamp of the Month
When you open you see what was on the inside of the snow globe a fox holding a string of lights to put on the Christmas Tree. I used a partial die cutting technique for both the fox & the tree.

This is a close up of the card close – you can just see through the Vellum to view the fox & what is to ome when you open the card. All the images were coloured in with the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Blenders.

If you liked to play with the stamp set, all you need to do is add it to your cart at full retail price of $27 OR, with your qualifying order of $75, add it at checkout for the promotional price of $7.50. You only have until Oct 31st, to own it.

4 weeks of “Christmas Craft”: Week 3

This week I thought that I would showcase a quick simple treat box.
I love this little self closing box – you can do so many things with it to really make it interesting. This time I kept it simple as I wanted to mass produce these for people to present them with some Christmas treats.

Christmas Self Closing Box

The box is made from 8.5″ x 6″ piece of cardstock – which means I can make two boxes from one piece of cardstock – so economical when you keep it simple. I have seen some fancy tops done on these boxes but that requires more cardstock & they are pretty fancy like this.

I used the White Pines Paper Packet to decorate it & added a cute bow from the Gold Fundamental Assortments which sits on top of gold shimmer trim. I had some left over holly leaves from another project & added some Red Enamel “Berries” Gems to finish off the holly.

These are the cutting & scoring direction that I used.
You can make the top 4″ side taller than 1″ & add a fancier edge to it if you want to create something a bit fancier.

4 weeks of “Christmas Craft”: Week 2

So as the holiday season approaches, I find less time to make things but have so many thing that I want to make. So I try (not always succeed) to keep it simple.

This week I present a quick simple card that could double as a Christmas Invitation or a fun way to sen your Christmas Holiday photos.

Christmas Present Card, Invitation or Photo Holder
Christmas Present Card, Invitation or Photo Holder using CTMH White Pines Paper & Base & Bling Snowflake Charm

So this is basically like a gate fold but they two pieces do not meet, one side sits slightly over the other.

The card is made from some B&T from the White Pines Paper Packet. I cut three strips of 10cm (which is about 4inch) wide from the paper & keep the length.
Along the 12inch length it was scored at 11.5cm (about 4.5inches) & 25.5cm (about 10inches).

Added a 2.5cm (about 1inch) strip of Cranberry Cardstock to the front, so that it looks like ribbon & blinged it up with some Silver Foil Tape (I love this stuff). A bow was cut out using the Cricut Artiste Collection which was decorated with a cute Base & Bling Snowflake Charm & a little Silver Sequin.

And done – you now made the card!

So how do you turn the card into an invitation or a photo holder?

Simple cut some card stock slightly smaller & score about 2.5cm, attach the flap of your cardtock to the top of the card fold like so
Christmas Present Card, Invitation or Photo Holder Inside

Double check that when you open & close the card, that your inside piece is not too long

Now when the recipient opens the top flap of the card the invitation or Photo holder will reveal part of the message.

For the photo holder just attach your favourite Santa photo or Christmas Family photo to the card.

4 weeks of “Christmas Craft”: Week 1

I am always trying to create quick gift idea & cute packaging for those last minute gifts. One of the things I don’t mind giving is either cash or a gift card – for teenagers it is so much easier.

But I like to make it look good & give something a little extra for the recipient to enjoy on the day they get their gift.

Cue these cute little Christmas Gift PacksChristmas Gift Packs using the Designer Creations Paper Bags to create pockets to hold your treats & gift.

When these little babies are opened up there are some yummy treats & in this case a gift card to buy what every you want.Christmas Gift Packs using the Designer Creations Paper Bags to create pockets to hold your treats & gift.

So how did I turn the Designer Creations Paper Bags to create pockets to hold your treats & gift?
How to fold the Designer Creations Paper Bags to create pockets to hold your treats & gift.
1. Lay the Designer Creations Paper Bags down so you can see the opening sitting up right
2. Fold the bottom right up to the opening
3. To hide the seam & to create the next level pocket, fold the seam down.
4. Stick it all together, decorate with some Gold Foil tape or Shimmer trim.
5. Add a gift card, cash & some yummy chocolates – these cute mini Tim Tams are perfect – if you don’t eat them all first that is!
