This month the Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month is full of flowers & leaves & two great sentiments. I found the flowers different to what I normally use but I still had fun creating with this stamp set.

I decided that I would do a bit of paper piecing with these flowers using the  Smoothie & Peach pattern mix in for the flowers & the New England Ivy Timber paper for the leaves.

I pulled it all together using the black & white striped paper from the Happiest Place pattern paper & done white embossing on black cardstock for the sentiment.

I was really happy how this all turned out & I look forward to creating with this exclusive D-size Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month stamp set again. This stamp set (only available in August) can be yours for just $9 AUD/ $10 NZD, when you place an order of $80 AUD/$88 NZD or more!

The Pretty of Paper-Piecing – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

I like to think of paper-piecing as colouring with paper. It is a great way incorporate paper scraps into your work & fun.

For this project I thought I use the super cute A Koala-ty Day Stamp + Thin Cuts.

Have A Koalaty Day Card

I stamped the Koalas that are on branches onto the woodgrain pattern paper from the Timber Paper Pack & the leaves onto the green polka dot pattern paper from the Bring Back My Pack – Brushed Paper pack. I fussy cut these out (thank goodness for the Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors) & glued them onto a stamped & Die cut image.

I then coloured a second coloured koala in with markers & fussy cut them out & stuck them on. For the background I sponged Mint, then Sage & at the bottom Julep. I did stamp over the sponged background with Mint leaves but I made the mistake of not making sure my sponged background was dry before doing that – so they blended in – oh well.

To finish off I stamped the Have a Koalaty Day in black in the middle &added a white Stitched frame with the Koalas on either side – so cute.

My Next idea I just paper-pieced the pots & that is it. I used Timber & Mixed in kraft based pattern paper for the pots & added it to the plants that have been stamped onto a background that used the Bargello Technique.

Thinking Of You Pot Plant Cards

I added more colour to the plants with some markers & I think it turned out great – it looks like a greenhouse.

I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Brenda Lapp to get more The Pretty of Paper-Piecing ideas.

Summertime memories deserve special treatment, which is exactly what they’ll get when you use the Summer Vibes Paper Collection in your crafting!

The red check paper reminded me of a picnic blanket. So I thought I create a card to remind me of the warmer weather. I thought the sentiment Enjoy was perfect for this.

For my next idea I created a little scene using the Stickers & the wave pattern paper. I love how the paper while it is meant to be waves actually looks like mountains in the distance. And how cute do these Gnomes look with their icy pole & watermelon?

I hope you enjoyed what I created with the Summer Vibes Paper Collection, it was fun to create with.

When I first saw this stampset I knew it would be perfect for the centre stage spotlight technique, I mean it looks just like someone finishing a performance & getting a bouquet of flowers.

I used both my ink pads & makers & some masking to achieve the look & added an extra flower from the Summer Vibes Acrylic Shapes. I matted the card with some Mixed-In paper

On my second card I really wanted to use the wonderful wash stamp & one of the many sentiments.

I kept the card simple & created pennants from a mix of Summer Vibes & Mix-in papers added a stitched look using the Build-a-Plaid & the butterfly just added that something extra special.

This exclusive D-size For My Beautiful Friend – July Stamp of the Month stamp set (only available in July) as a statement or just to add a sentiment, this stamp set can be yours for just $9 AUD/ $10 NZD, when you place an order of $80 AUD/$88 NZD or more!

The last time we had the Brushed Paper Collection it was 2014. I recall you could get a Scrapbooking kit that included a stamp set – which I realy like so I had to get the scrapbooking kit. Now it is back with the colours updated slightly to go with our new colours & it now comes with a sticker sheet that we never had before.

I decided that I would do some fussy cutting on the watercoloured look flowers & leaves.

I used the Candy Apple Spotted paper & the Lagoon leaf print paper & added a strip of Lagoon cardstock & some Dreamy Holographic Paper (seriously this stuff is amazing & you only need a little bit) as my background to my fussy cut flowers.

I then stamped For You from the Stitched Together – Cardmaking stamp set & nestled in the flowers & leaves. And added a final touch of Diamond Stickles™ Glitter Gel to the flower centres.

I thought it was fun to play with Brushed Paper Collection again & boy have I changed how I make things compared to way back in 2014.

Let it Shimmer! – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Who doesn’t love shimmer & with the Close To My Heart Shimmer brushes it is super easy to add shimmer to your projects.

On this card I added the Gold Shimmer brush to the Star Balloon & on the cute clouds I used the clear shimmer to give them some shine & make them look like they are full of rain.

I used the updated Bring Back My Pack – Brushed paper to create my little scene for the Snuggle Up Bunnies

This is a angle shot to try & get a better image of the shine the Shimmer brushes add

My next card idea was inspired by a card from the Craft with Heart™ Cardmaking subscription but believe me when I say that the card that was in the subscription was much faster & quicker to make but still just as cute

I used the Clear shimmer on the flowers that wrap around the cake, on the Sweet Hummingbird & on the stitched shaker circle.

This is a angle shot to try & get a better image of the shine the Shimmer brushes add – it really is much nicer in real life.

For those of you who want to learn how to get your Close To My Heart Shimmer Brush started – this is a great little video

I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Wendy Kessler to get more Let it Shimmer! ideas.
