Seriously how cute are all these fishy icons? No wonder the Stamp Set is called O-fish-ally Awesome because that is what this stamp set is – Awesome!

Now there are so many possibilities with this stamps set. Of course at the moment working from home has left me less time to craft than when going into the office – go figure! So I only have this one pretty simple idea – but lucky this is a hop so you will see heaps more ideas till I get a chance to make up some more.

So

So I sponged some mint & Carolina ink for the water & used Toffee for the sand. I did add some sand details with some markers.

I then stamped over this sponged background – I think the only issue I had doing it this way was that my Clown fish now had no white stripes – I did try a white pencil, but in the end I thought the water was light enough to get away with this. Tip on stamping an image on a background like this one – is to always make a few stamped images go off the page – if you find that hard to do – make the piece larger than you need then cut it down – you will end up cutting through a stamped image – but in the end it look better than being contained – at least for a image like this. If they were in the fish tank it would be different.

I matted this onto a wave lined paper from the Seas The Day Paper Collection & then this was the tricky part – that saying “You are o-fish-ally awesome” was actually in a stacked saying, not one in one single line which is what I needed for this layout to work. So I did some masking to get this saying stamped how I liked – I could have cut the stamp up – but I am unsure how I am mostly going to be using this one yet.

Close To My Heart Family Legacy – March Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

If you love ornate flourishes & words to celebrate your family history then you will love this month’s stamp of the month Family Legacy – March Stamp of the Month. I love the play on the fonts family & sizes in this stamp set & can see many uses for it.

But as I do love to make cards I yet again made some using this stamp set.

My first card well I really wanted to play with the new Around the Clock stamp & die set, but I need to make something for this hop so I decided that the two could be used together.

I stamped a couple of the flourish corner into the corners & used the floral stamp on the main clock body & even the pendulums have been stamped with one of the flourishes.

My next card I decided to go a bit more arty style, it has been a while since I done something like this.

I stamped a mixture of the flourishes in black on the background & then sponged a variety of inks over it, I decided not to do any browns as I wanted this to be bit more fun & bright. I edged the card with a stamp from Strokes of an Artist to give it a finished border & added a sticked frame & a stamped flower & leaves from the Yesterday & Today – Cardmaking Stamp set. It is different but I really like how it turned out.

And my final card I decided to do some white embossing on Kraft cardstock with one of the flourishes. I really liked how it turned out so I needed to design something that showed it off a bit

So I added a flower stamped onto pink mixed in paper (I love how the white splotches added to the flower, so I am glad I few extra to use at a later date) some leaves & a thinking of you on black that been matted with some lined mix in paper. Everything sits on a Grid design from the Yesterday & Today Paper Pack.

Everyone has their favourite fun colouring method, be it coloured pencils, markers or watercolour paints. One of mine is with paper. Yes you read that correctly I enjoy colouring images with paper – it takes some fussy cutting but I find that relaxing. And so today I share with you a card that I coloured with paper.

I stamped the bunch of flowers from the Feb Stamp of the Month Cherish Her onto lots of scrap aper from all the current paper ranges & then fussy cut out the flowers & leaves & piece them together – like a jigsaw puzzel. I did colour the flower stems & bow with markers, as these parts were easier to colour with them than fussy cutting paper.

I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Katy Taylor to get more Color Your World ideas.

If you like to get any of the products that I have used in this project, please contact your Close To My Heart Consultant or if you do not have a consultant & are an Aussie, I would love for you to place an order with me on my website

Close To My Heart Cherishing Her – February Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Australasian Blog Hop

A Happy Hello and welcome aboard our Cherishing Her – February Stamp of the Month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

The Cherishing Her – February Stamp of the Month is a great stamp set to celebrate the females in your life, be it your mother, sister, aunt or even your female friend. You are sure to find something that works no matter who you create for.

My first card I decided to create with the Card Front Spinner Thin Cut die – which has become a new favourite tool

The words in the Rainbow Wishes worked well with the sentiments from Cherish Her to allow the sender multiple options to describe their friend. I stamped the flowers so you could not see the ribbon & stems & coloured in with markers.

My next card I couldn’t go past using this sweet Nan image from You’re Not Old & I just love the fact she is holding an oversize bunch of flowers

I used the pink watercolour paper from Celebrate Today Paper Pack, coloured in the images with markers & fussy cut both out & then added extra flowers on foam tape to hide joins & give height. The heart zip strip really helped to finish off the card.

This next card I wanted to try a different colouring technique & not white cardstock & I was happy with the result

I stamped with versamark ink & white embossed & coloured with the Clear Shimmer Brush & added a few loose sequins.

Bonus Card Idea

So I actually created & shared an idea using this stamp set last month for the Freshly Made Sketches #417. But I really loved how it turned out so I am re-sharing t here for another idea on how to use this stamp set. I used the middle stitch rectangle with some mix-in papers matted on a torn bottom mix -in & coloured my flowers in with markers.

Random Act of Cardness -September Stamp of the Month Close To My Heart #CTMHToday I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s (S1909) Random Act of Cardness – September Stamp of the Month

This stamp set is full of sayings that are perfect to add to a card that you want to randomly send to someone just because. And really these are the best types of cards – the ones you are not expecting, it is not your birthday or some special occasion, but a card appears in your mail box out of the blue & well it can really change your day.

And I hope you love what I created with this stamp as I really enjoyed playing around with it.

The card I made is a simple design. I used the Flower Pattern Paper from the Every Little Thing Paper suite along with the a green pattern paper from the Hawthorn Paper Packet, the two work well together. I accent the design with the Build-a-Plaid stamp set, by using it as a border. And then I picked one of the sentiments from the Random Act of Cardness and added a White Acrylic Heart. This card would be perfect to send off to someone for no reason.Sending A Smile Handmade Card created with Close To My Heart Random Act of Cardness -September Stamp of the Month and CTMH Every Little Thing & Mix In Papers. https://maz.closetomyheart.com.au
