These gorgeous critters covered in flowers will have you swooning and to top it off they have some great sentiments too.

For this card I decided to use the fox.

I created this scallop oval using my Cricut from the Close To My Heart – Art Philosophy Image set. I stamped it with Mocha ink onto French Vanilla cardstock & only coloured the flowers in with TriBlend™ Markers. I then added Rose Gold Liquid Pearls to the inner parts of the scallops & set this aside to dry while I worked out my card base.

I have the cross over fold card template in my stash & I haven’t used it in a while & thought it was perfect for this large image. Once I made it I wanted to put some detail in the background so I used the Embroidered Card Front Image, stamped in Mocha ink on Mocha cardstock – it gives it a nice tone on tone look. I did have to stamp this image a couple of times to fill in the space & I knew that the center would be covered with my oval.

To finish it off I cut some flowers & leaves with the Layered Flowers Thin Cuts & added more Rose Gold Liquid Pearls to the flower centres. These also served to hide a section of the background that I accidentally overlapped the background image.

All in All this makes for one extra special card.

My next card I decided to do the Eclipse Technique with one of the Word Thin Cut Dies.

I started with cutting the cardstock with the large rectangle thin cut, then stamped & coloured in the hedgehog along with one of the sentiments. Then on the back of the cardstock I added a piece of adhesive sheet & then came the scary part, running this lovely coloured image through the Die Cutting machine with the Just Because word – seriously did not want to start over with all the colouring again.

I also cut the word out in black cardstock a few times & then stacked them with the coloured word on top & stuck it back into place. The adhesive cardstock made the whole process much easier as everything was covered & ready to stick into place.

There are some great images as well as sentiments on this stamp set, I could see it being used for many things

I love the floral designs for the butterfly & dragonfly, but I thought to myself do I really want to colour all that in. SO with that in mind & I figured others would think the same thing I decided to do the reverse colour technique – that is only colour the background & leave the actual stamped images uncoloured.

Winged Masterpiece—March Stamp of the Month

I stamped the butterfly in black ink three times on a 3½” × 8½” cardfront panel to fit the slimline cards Close To My Heart have. I chose a blue marker & started to colour in the background. I did add some Pewter Precious Metals Metallic Marker to the body of the butterfly to give the black a bit of metallic shimmer but I left the wings uncoloured.

I stamped one of the sayings onto some scrap & raised it up over the card.

It was a simple & fast card to create & still looked effective.

This is such a fun stamp set that could be used to decorate planners, small bits of cardstock, pattern paper for cards or scrapbook pages or use to create an entire background. There are so many stamps on this set & I look foward to using it on my projects over this month.

But for now I want to share with you how I used it on this card for the blog hop.

Cattitude with Doodled Borders

I thought that some of the images would make perfect pennants/banners on this card.

I stamped a variety of the images onto plain cardstock & pattern paper that did not have a busy design & created a pennants/banners with them. One of the images was ready to use as is, just had to fussy cut it. I then stamped the scallop border & fussy cut the scallops & used the saying to add to the main part of the card.

I even used one of the heart images to add to one of the cats. It was fun trying some things out with the Doodled Borders – February Stamp of the Month

Oh boy flowers – I am in trouble – love a pretty flower to make things with.

My first creation I wan t to share is this pretty pink & black Cascade card.

Pink & Black Floral Cascade Card

I used the Mixed in Papers to decorate it & used one of the sentiments to feature on the front. I stamped, coloured & fussy cut the flowers to decorate the card. This card fold flat to 4¼” x 5½” and is simple enough to put together but has a nice wow factor.

My next card features the Thanks Thin Cut Die.

Thanks Card with CTMH Happiness Never Grows Old

I started off with stamping my roses first onto a stitched rectangle thin cut die & colouring them in with markers. I then masked them – the hardest part were the tiny leaves.

I sponged & stenciled a background in Distress Oxide ink. Once I was happy I positioned the Thanks Thin Cut onto the the card & cut it out. I cut some extra from scrap card so the it was raised ever so slightly more than the background & added a matching colour cardstock to my coloured roses of the thinner letters on top. The piece was matted & added to a pre-scored card.

I seriously could create soo much more with this stamp set, in fact I have about 3 unfinished pieces sitting on my craft desk, but I will leave it with these two ideas.

Close To My Heart You Warm My Heart – Nov Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Australasian Blog Hop

For my first card I wanted to make something non-Christmas theme, so I focused on the pie image fr this Cutie Pie Card.

Happy Birthday Cutie Pie

I started with sponging on some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto the card. I then stamped & coloured in each pie image to create a different type of pie filling. I made a chocolate mud, pumpkin, key lime & mixed berry pie.

I stamped Happy Birthday from On Your Birthday stamp set & added Cutie Pie from the Stamp of the Month on white Daisy & matted with some woodgrain paper.

For my next card I stacked the tea cups to make this non-traditional Christmas Card.

Stacked Tea Cups Card

I stamped each cup in Toffee, Candy Apple & Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I fussy cut each cup & created a slit to stack each cup into one another. I stamped the candy cane & fussy cut out & added some shimmer brush to it.

I die cut the Lagoon Cardstock with the Stitched Lattice Thin Cut die & wrapped some Silver Embellishing Thread around & added the Tea cups matted with Candy Apple cardstock to finish off.

Close To My Heart Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Australasian Blog Hop

A Happy Hello and welcome aboard our Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Kimberley Lerc – Kimmy Adds Sparkle then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

This month the Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month is full of flowers & leaves & two great sentiments. I found the flowers different to what I normally use but I still had fun creating with this stamp set.

I decided that I would do a bit of paper piecing with these flowers using the  Smoothie & Peach pattern mix in for the flowers & the New England Ivy Timber paper for the leaves.

I pulled it all together using the black & white striped paper from the Happiest Place pattern paper & done white embossing on black cardstock for the sentiment.

I was really happy how this all turned out & I look forward to creating with this exclusive D-size Floral Celebration – August Stamp of the Month stamp set again. This stamp set (only available in August) can be yours for just $9 AUD/ $10 NZD, when you place an order of $80 AUD/$88 NZD or more!
