These Are My People collection is designed to help you document special moments and memories with all the people who mean the most to you, from your family and besties to everyone else you would consider your people!

My First project I combined one of the scrapbook layouts from the Cricut® Everyday Moments Collection with the These Are My People papers & sticker sheet, I even used some of the stamps.

I thought the flowers in this project looked a lot like the flowers in the sticker & sheet & stamp set, I was originally going to combine it all but changed my mind after I backed the flowers & leaves with the pattern paper from the These Are My People collection and I loved how it all turned out.

I then made a joy fold card as I cut some extra flowers for the layout & well needed to make sure they did not go to waste.

I created the hello using the Flower Market Hello which was part of a speech bubble & joined it to the flap which I joined the back of the card unlike a traditional joy fold which is in the middle. I add the pattern paer to the card & decorated the front panel with one of the zip strips & left over flowers.

The best friend was stamped in black & I over stamped it with Ballerina Ink using the paint swish that is in the Love These People stamp set. I am really happy how this card turned out. And it is just perfect to send out to a best friend during these strange times.

If you love vintage, hinges & keys & browns, you will love the Yesterday & Today paper collection. There are papers in here that could easily be used for male scrapbook layouts if heritage is not your thing.

So for my project I decided to use the Yesterday & Today paper collection with one of the Cricut® Everyday Moments Collection 8½” × 11″ scrapbook layout & I loved how it turned out. I can see myself using photos of my nephews or great-nephews.

I used the Yesterday & Today Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet & the Yesterday & Today Foil Die-cuts to pull this all together. The title is embossed in Copper Tinsel Embossing Powder which matches perfectly with the whole layout.

I love how the title looks like it is on a clipboard, but to tone down the brown paper I did swipe some white daisy pigment ink over it & heat set. It was the best idea as the pattern & colour still shows through, but not too much that the title is lost.

Celebrate Today paper collection is a fun, bright, vibrant way to add some colour into your crafting. Iy is not only great for Birthdays but any occasion that calls for some bright & cheery,

My first project is a quick simple card design, I teamed the Celebrate Today Papers with some Dreamy Holographic Paper, which really brought put the blues & greens. I used a combination of stamps ( Say It in Style & Rainbow Wishes) for my sentiment.

My next project I made a 8½” × 11″ scrapbook layout using the sticker sheet that you can get with the Celebrate Today papers. The layout is made up 1½” tall & 7½” strips wide of paper along with a zip strip & a strip of the of the Dreamy Holographic Paper. I also used on of the Strokes of an Artist images to help crate the border & another to create paint splatters to bring in more of the black colour to tie in with the zip strip & sticker embellishments.

Spruced Up your card making 4 different ways

The Spruced Up Cardmaking Stamp set (which also has matching Thin Cut dies) is the sweetest little bird stamp set & it has very versatile sentiments, so I thought this would b a perfect product to showcase what you can create with it.

My first idea was to used the stitched rectangle frame & have the the bird with the pine tree leaves sitting in the corner. I added an embellishment cluster at the top. There is no sentiment as I haven’t decided what I use this card for yet but I like how it turned out.

My next idea I thought the bird needed a house, thus this idea of a birdhouse came about

This next idea I wanted to create a winter scene & used a bit of mixed media to complete this idea. I used direct to paper ink using a mixture of blue inks, stamped over with embossing ink & embossed with White Super Fine Embossing Powder to create snow & added tree trunks that were cut from Cricut® Artfully Sent Collection, with added colour using Espresso ink & made a snow bank with torn paper covered with Opaque Matte Texture Paste. I loved how this all turned out & how the bird sits in well with this winter scene.

My final idea I wanted to try out the Card Front Spinner Thin Cut die with this stamp set. I kept the design simple as the interactivity is the main act on this card. The words are from the Rainbow Wishes stamp set & the background paper from the Spruced Up Paper Packet collection.

I hope you like my ideas using the Spruced Up – Cardmaking Stamp Set and that I have given you lots of ideas to go & create with it.

Below is a couple of ideas from the Close To My Heart Art Department.

Bonus

So this sweet idea was shared over on my Terrific Treats – CTMH Technique Blog Hop post. I thought the bird made the sweetest addition to this box base bag.

Close To My Best Friends Furever Australasian Blog Hop

A Happy Hello and welcome aboard our Best Friends Furever Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop.

If you have arrived here from Danielle Edwards – Scrappy Chicks then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

If you have cats or dogs or both then you will love Best Friends Furever paper pack, stamp set and cut above kit.

For my project share I decided to show how I changed up the Best Friends Furever Cut Above® kit. I cut the  6″ ×  8″ into  6″ ×  6″ & made some basic changes. Now I know some people would want to know why, well I wanted these pages as part of my  12″ ×  12″ album & the  6″ ×  6″ fits perfectly in my 12″ ×  12″. I plan to either create some 12″ ×  12″ to go with these.

For the most part things were kept the same in terms of placements of the fun double-sided die-cuts that allow you to choose between two options for each piece: one designed for cat-lovers and the other for dog-lovers!

But I also added some stickers from the Best Friends Furever Paper Sticker Sheet just for a little bit extra.

Now all I need to do is get my cat photos printed to go on these layouts.

I had lots of fun creating with Best Friends Furever and I would love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Lauren Moore

It’s Not All Christmas Themed

I can forgive you in thinking that the Close To My Heart November–December 2019 Catalogue is all Christmas Themed products. Yes the papers do have a very Christmas look about them but the wonderful thing about the Holly Jolly, the Cedar and Pine and Nov-Dec Mix ins papers collections is the designs on them – they lend themselves to any theme.

And well Red is a traditional colour to be used in Christmas but I also noted a few pinks & peaches and some flowers too. So I just had to create a scrapbook layout that used these papers.

I started off by wielding together Heart Border in the Close To My Heart – Artistry, the border has some open hearts with allowed me to back them with papers.

I then created a background using ink pads & water colour to show through the open areas of the overlay.

I added some Cedar & Pine Leaf stickers & fussy cut out some flowers from the Cedar and Pine Floral design and embellished with some hearts from sticker sheets and the White Acrylic Hearts, one of which I coloured red with my markers.

I added the Title Love This with White Alphabet Foam Stickers to finish off.

As I kind of wanted to show off all the pretty papers & not hide too much I decided I use 3×3 photos – so I have my placements down now, for once I print. However this did not leave too much room for journalling.

So I decided to create a 6″ x 6″ using the same techniques & a smaller scale overlay & add journalling strips. I had some left over Craft On Rubber Shapes, and well they were perfect to create a little mini title & add more embellishments.

Close To My Heart 6″ x 6″ Memory Protectors™ are actually designed to go into a 6″ × 6″, 8½” × 11″ or 12″ × 12″ album so it is perfect to sit next to my 12″ × 12″ layout.

I hope you like my ideas & will look at the Close To My Heart November–December 2019 Catalogue in a new light & see past the Christmas Theme to create some non Christmas ideas.
