If you have cats or dogs or both then you will love Best Friends Furever paper pack, stamp set and cut above kit.

For my project share I decided to show how I changed up the Best Friends Furever Cut Above® kit. I cut the  6″ ×  8″ into  6″ ×  6″ & made some basic changes. Now I know some people would want to know why, well I wanted these pages as part of my  12″ ×  12″ album & the  6″ ×  6″ fits perfectly in my 12″ ×  12″. I plan to either create some 12″ ×  12″ to go with these.

For the most part things were kept the same in terms of placements of the fun double-sided die-cuts that allow you to choose between two options for each piece: one designed for cat-lovers and the other for dog-lovers!

But I also added some stickers from the Best Friends Furever Paper Sticker Sheet just for a little bit extra.

Now all I need to do is get my cat photos printed to go on these layouts.

I had lots of fun creating with Best Friends Furever and I would love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Lauren Moore

It’s Not All Christmas Themed

I can forgive you in thinking that the Close To My Heart November–December 2019 Catalogue is all Christmas Themed products. Yes the papers do have a very Christmas look about them but the wonderful thing about the Holly Jolly, the Cedar and Pine and Nov-Dec Mix ins papers collections is the designs on them – they lend themselves to any theme.

And well Red is a traditional colour to be used in Christmas but I also noted a few pinks & peaches and some flowers too. So I just had to create a scrapbook layout that used these papers.

I started off by wielding together Heart Border in the Close To My Heart – Artistry, the border has some open hearts with allowed me to back them with papers.

I then created a background using ink pads & water colour to show through the open areas of the overlay.

I added some Cedar & Pine Leaf stickers & fussy cut out some flowers from the Cedar and Pine Floral design and embellished with some hearts from sticker sheets and the White Acrylic Hearts, one of which I coloured red with my markers.

I added the Title Love This with White Alphabet Foam Stickers to finish off.

As I kind of wanted to show off all the pretty papers & not hide too much I decided I use 3×3 photos – so I have my placements down now, for once I print. However this did not leave too much room for journalling.

So I decided to create a 6″ x 6″ using the same techniques & a smaller scale overlay & add journalling strips. I had some left over Craft On Rubber Shapes, and well they were perfect to create a little mini title & add more embellishments.

Close To My Heart 6″ x 6″ Memory Protectors™ are actually designed to go into a 6″ × 6″, 8½” × 11″ or 12″ × 12″ album so it is perfect to sit next to my 12″ × 12″ layout.

I hope you like my ideas & will look at the Close To My Heart November–December 2019 Catalogue in a new light & see past the Christmas Theme to create some non Christmas ideas.

Holly Jolly Is such a bright fun collection & it is perfect for a traditional Christmas with a few modern colours additions of Smoothie & Glacier.

I decided to have another play with the Cricut® Complete Creativity Digital Collection as there are a couple of pre-designed Christmas.

With this one I even created a second page in a 8½” × 11″ format using the same elements by slicing & resizing things. I loved how it turned out.

I used the Holly Jolly papers to cut the the photo mats and the tag. Plus I used the words that are in one of the zip strips & stapled at the top. I also used a tag sticker & some of the flower stickers near the poinsettia flower.

Holly Jolly papers to cut the the photo mats and the tag & again used the words on the zip strip words stapled near the bottom. I used the holly stickers on top of the O in Joy.

I also wanted to make a card so thought I used the snowflake paper that is part of the Holly Jolly Paper Pack.

I thought it was cut having the woodland creatures gathering around a Christmas Tree (cut from the Cricut® Complete Creativity Digital Collection) in the snow.

And finally I wanted to make something that was not Christmas Theme, so decided to use some of the presents in the sticker sheet and fussy cut some presents out of the paper & paired it with a Birthday Saying Stamps.

I also used some of the green gingham with some silver shimmer trim to finish off the card.

I had lots of fun creating with Holly Jolly and I would love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Danielle Edwards – Scrappy Chicks

Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout with Close To My Heart Products

Hello to all my crafty friends

I finally got to have a good play with the some products that been sitting there untouched & unloved since I ordered them from the Close To My Heart Catalogue September–October 2019 and it was super fun & slightly messy to create.

I started by priming my white daisy cardstock with some white guesso (you could use clear on the white) this was to ensure that the watercolour paints did not sink in & destroy the paper & allow a bit of blending to happen.

Once the guesso was dry I used the packaging technique – where you add watercolour to plastic packaging to smoosh onto the paper. I dried it with a heat gun which also moved some of the paints. I filled in some areas with some of the blue Exclusive Inks™ Stamp Pads with some water to blend into it.

To this background I also added some Gold Shimmer Brush splattered into the wet background before drying again with a heat gun. I need to get a new one of these as the brush was just about dead when I went to use it so you do not see much in the photo but there is a bit of a shimmer.

I the used the Sun Overlay (#M3F370) from the Cricut® Artbooking Digital Collection to cut my rays from the Saffron patter in the Hawthorn Paper Packet and the Lemonade & Nectarine patterns from the Spooktacular Paper Packet and some Lemonade cardstock. Using the stencil as a guide I stacked my rays so each paper could be seen & glued it in place with the Dual-tip Multi-bond Glue Pen.

I then got my piercing tool out to make holes between the rays & stamped a line of Saffron Exclusive Inks™ using the Strokes of an Artist stamp set

I then glued some Gold Loose Sequins with Liquid Glass.

I created a photo matt from Sapphire stripped pattern paper from the Every Little Thing Paper Packet & raised that with some 3D foam tape.

I had already cut a large scallop white daisy circle for another product & this was the other half. I added journalling lines with the Build-a-Plaid stamp set and tucked this under the photo matt.

I added a cluster using Every Little Thing Vellum Die-cuts, Every Little Thing Complements and a white Acrylic Heart on the bottom left corner.

At the top left side I created another cluster from stamped using second generation Sapphire ink to create the banners using the Every Little Thing—Scrapbooking stamp set. and some stickers from the sticker sheet, plus a little bit of stitching with Mink Twine.

I loved how it all turned out & how the rays draw your eye to where the photo will be & that I got to use a wide variety of products from different lines & how well they all look together.

True Love Paper Suite CTMHToday I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s Featured collection True Love Paper Suite.

Don’t just think of this paper suite for Weddings, while its colour scheme & cut out icons are perfect for weddings, you will note that there are a tonne of colours & patterns that would suite a wide variety of themes.

My first card features two stamped  icons from the Then & Now which is part of June The Best Moments Are Free promotion. I love how well this bird & ornate border works with the True Love Paper Suite. I only used paper scraps to create the card, using the smallest rectangle stitched frames as the main piece.

My second card I had a little fun with overlaying paper scraps to create this fun Birthday Parade scene. I love how little paper can be used to change a whole look of a card & be really simple design.

Sweet GirlToday I would like to share with you a creation which features Close To My Heart’s Featured collection Sweet Girl Paper Suite.

This collection has a very pretty soft colour palette but I love how it incorporates green & sapphire & mink (light gray) which you can use for males too.

My first creation is this punny card I thought I would do a bit of peek a boo of the papers to create something fun. I used a circle thin cut to cut out the windows & backed it with some of the Sweet Girls papers.

My next creation is a scrapbook layout created for the new 8½” x 11″ Memory Protectors™, I love this new format to create something different to add into the main 12″ x 12″ albums. This layout is based on the “Hourglass Figure” trend that is popular in scrapbooking at the moment, which draws the eye to the photo (still to be printed), which will be an Easter Photo which will go perfectly with the title Yum.
