After every project there are always scraps of cardstock & pattern paper left over. Sometimes it can be a challenge to use them up. So I pull out a pile of scraps & challenged myself to make something with them.
I made sure I had a few options in pattern paper & speciality papers to use.
And my first card I used some left over pattern paper, white cardstock scrap & silver foil scrap. All up I was pretty happy with this design & it works well with larger scraps that get left over.
On this card I had these strips that were not long enough to go the full width of the card & the circle off cut did have a mark on it. I ended up using an off cut of vellum over the strips of card stock & added a thin strip of the zip strip over that.
I stamped on the vellum with stazon ink & added some sparkles. What I liked about this is that the scallop circle die had slipped (I did not use my magnetic plate) so that some of the scallops were blunt & I was able to hide that on this card otherwise it was in my scrap bucket thinking I might end up using the centre.
While I didn’t end up using all my scraps or even make a dent in them, this did remind me to go look in the scrap pile more often as there could be the perfect sized paper that I do not need to cut down or off from the large 12 x 12 cardstock or pattern paper.
I’d love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Melissa Robinson to get more Use Your Scraps! ideas.
