The Blossoming Friendship Stamp set is such a pretty Aussie themed stamp set & what is even better is that it comes with matching Thin Cuts (or dies) to make it easy for you to cut the images out or use to creatively to create fab cards. And even though it is not in the current catalogue you can still get the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts via the online only section.
So these two cards use the Spotlight and Masking Techniques that I came across from Jennifer McGuire – I noted that the gum leaf stamps was similar to one that she used & it made it easy for me to learn the technique & it was great to get 2 cards from one technique.
I cut out the mint cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts & then white embossed the leaf from the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts on the lighter side of the mint cardstock, masked over the image & sponged on mint ink & glacier. I then used the Shaker Window & Confetti Thin Cuts to cut out the large circle window.
I cut out the the white daisy cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts & then I worked out the position of the image & stamped the same leaf from the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts & embossed in Princess Gold Embossing Powder. The circle was also cut out on this card too
I added my sentiment & added Clear Shimmer Brush to the white embossed leaves & used foam tape to pop up the the sections of the card I wanted higher. I love love how both these cards turned out.
My next creative idea was to do a more arty style look with some paper piecing.
I stamped the arrangement of the flowers & leaves from the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts onto the Yesterday & Today paper & coloured it with makers, blending out. I then re-stamped the flower onto the Pink pattern & Green & White Check from the These are My People Paper and the gum nuts & gum leaves onto Yesterday & Today’s papers.
I added colour details with my markers & fussy cut the pieces to glue back in place. I cut it all out with the large Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts & mat with black. Stamped the saying & cut it out so that I could position it in a way to show the card.
Ok onto something super simple – you really do not need to do loads of fussy cutting & colouring to create this one.
I stamped the leaf (yes I really love this leaf) from the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts & used the thin cuts. on the base card I stamped in Mink Ink with the Strokes of an Artist stamp. When I placed the leaf over it I did notice that some of the background was hidden more than I like so I did some extra fussy cutting. I stamped my sentiment & highlight happiness in mink ink & added a pen border.
Another creative card making idea I done with the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts was to create a bunch of flowers
Everything was stamped, coloured & die cut out first & then the flower arrangement was put together over some Seas The Day Paper cut with the Stitched Rectangle Frames Thin Cuts
Ok my last idea was me trying a fun & different way to use coordinating thin cut dies.
I cut out out the shape on coloured cardstock & raise it around the stamped & coloured image, so it looks set back.
Below is the Close To My Heart Art Department idea of using the Blossoming Friendship Stamp + Thin Cuts stamps on the scrapbook layout.
I love the simplicity of these cards, but it still has depth due to the colouring.
