I love making & playing with interactive cards, they are just so fun & they bring an additional element to the joy of receiving a card.
This card is no different, it is part shadow box style card with interactive pieces that move in & out of the scene by pulling and pushing the side wings of the interactive card.
Making the Interactive Push Pull Shadow Box Card
1. Cut two pieces of cardstock 19cm wide x 12.5cm high (measurements can change to suit the size of the card you require)
2. Score at 2cm from the edge & again an extra 1cm. Score again on the other side. Both card pieces are actually folded the same way…you just have to flip over one .
3. On one of the pieces of cardstock, cut out a window, this can be cut with a Cricut, die cut or even hand cut the window. It can be any shape as long as it allows you to see the background & the interactive elements.
On the uncut card panel, position the background elements to build up your scene.I used paper from the CTMH Regatta line – the bird print for the sky & a wave print for the ocean, plus I added a cloud.
Chose your interactive elements – I used the Pirate & the ship from the Pirate Birthday stamp set and a skull.
Stick your interactive elements onto a long piece of sturdy cardstock & work out how high or low they need to be positioned and how it looks through the window of your interactive card. I also experimented with pushing & pulling the sides to determine how long the piece of cardstock needed to be for my interactive elements.
You can cover the pieces of cardstock with the same pattern paper as your background so it sort of blends in,
Decorate the front of your window & stick it all together
Now have a little play – so the card is not stiff & well because it is fun!
