Embossing Folder Patten Sanding Technique

Looking for something quick to do this weekend?

How about try this  quick & easy technique. This is a fun way to use the CTMH embossing folders without using the cuttlebug.

Open your CTMH embossing folder (so many to choose from) and run your finger over the patterns to determine which side is raised (convex) and which is inset (concave.)

You’ll want to lay your folder down with the raised side (convex) facing up and your CTMH exclusive cardstock over the top of the folder.

Then just start sanding with the sanding block out of your sanding kit – That simple! The only thing you have to watch out for is paper dust!

You can add a subtle vintage look by sanding lightly, or press hard for a bolder pattern to emerge. Just make sure to avoid sanding near the edge of the embossing folder, or you’ll get an unattractive straight line marring your pretty pattern.

Why does this work?
Well CTMH exclusive cardstock has a white core (except the colonial white, white daisy & kraft) Sanding the top colour coating reveals the lovely white core & still leaves some of the coordinating colour that will work with the rest of the CTMH product line.

Hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial & give it a go.

Let me know what you made with your newly created patten cardstock.

This is what I made, featuring Happy Birds (C1600)stamp set which just come out.
