Sometimes you need some inspiration to give you an excuse to get a stamp set besides the fact that it is cute – so why not see some creative uses of the stamp set.
I love this Sweet Hummingbird stamp set and & I think you will love all 4 unique ways I have used this stamp set . And I think I found enough extra ideas to make sure you get the most use out of it.
My first idea was to create this Screen Panel Card.
I created the Screen Panel in design space, using Artbooking & basic shapes & cut out the medium stitched rectangles & sponged them with Almond Ink. & stamped the designs onto them & coloured with watercolour pencils. I stamped the birds again & fussy cut them (you can get matching thin cuts with these stamps if you are not into fussy cutting) & used 3D foam tape to raise them up & added some clear shimmer brush to them. The card turned out super pretty.
The next idea I have was to use it in this interactive Peek-A-Boo Card
I got the cutting directions from a peek-a-boo design from Jennifer McGuire – she always does amazing clear instruction videos & I want to be like her when I grow up. I used a basic circle for my window, decorated with the Scalloped Circle Thin Cuts Die which made it look very pretty. Simple colouring in with markers. Check out my Facebook video to see the card in action.
My next card, I wanted to make a feature of one of the sentiments & to do that I thought I cut out an oval window & decorate around it.
I cut the stitched rectangle first, then placed my oval where I wanted it & cut that. I stamped over the card stock with the small leaf in the background. I stamped the saying directly onto the card & added foam tape to raise the background. I then stamped, coloured & fussy cut out the bird & flowers in watercolour pencils & added some shimmer with the shimmer brush.
The next idea I wanted to do something simple but also feature some of pattern paper.
I cut up a strip of paper of pattern paper 4.5cm which is nearly 3inches wide & added some shimmer trim on either side. I then stamped the small dots along one side – this is in the stamp set & is easy to miss. Added a sentiment to the scallop circle & stamped & coloured the bird & flower with alcohol markers this time to try a different colouring method. Once I fussy cut them out I added them to the card along with some gold sequins.
Below is a couple of ideas from the Close To My Heart Art Department using the Sweet Hummingbird on a scrapbook layout & the other on a card. Plus a few Ideas I found on Instagram & YouTube to really inspire you.
Ok so this bonus idea is created by me but I put it here as I had already shared this idea over on the Aurora Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop and I thought it was a great quick idea card to share here as the design is nice & simple.

The colour combination in the Aurora Paper Collection is so pretty & while this is perfect for outdoors due to the sticker collection, I have had fun creating with this paper in different ways too.
My first project is a 8½” x 11″ scrapbook Layout. I loved the lurples & dark blues that were in one of the pattern papers, but I knew I did not want the pine trees.
I created these flowers a while back to have some fun with mixed media & when I seen them next to the paper I knew I had to create a layout with them. See close up of the texture on the flowers & well they work with the papers
I added some stickers from the sticker sheet & some hearts from the Aurora Acrylic Shapes to tie it all together – I loved how it all came together & looks.
My next project I decided to make a card & well seeing it is an outdoorsy type paper & about nature, why not use the Sweet Hummingbird.
I used both sides of the paper & a zip strip & coloured the bird in markers to match & co-ordinate & added Best Wishes from the Stamp of the Month time to Celebrate.

This month it is all about the fancy sentiments in the the Time to Celebrate stamp set & it was fun to come up with some creative ideas in using it.
So I decided to turn these sentiment words into flower stems – I mean why not?
These flowers were left overs from another project, they were cut from the cricut & have texture paste added to them.& painted over with watercolour paints & shimmer pens , but I think these words would look great as a stem for a stamped flower.
My next idea is a very subtle use of the stamp set.
All I did is add the little crosses, they kind of look like cross stitch & a thinking of you sentiment.
whether you want to use this exclusive D-size Time to Celebrate – May Stamp of the Month stamp set (only available in May) as a statement or just to add a sentiment, this stamp set can be yours for just $9 AUD/ $10 NZD, when you place an order of $80 AUD/$88 NZD or more!
